Michael Rose is SVP Business Strategy. He had over 20 years of experience trading OTC derivatives and capital markets products on both the sell side and buy side, before leading Bloomberg's regulatory and accounting business from 2010 to 2014 in their Enterprise Content and Distribution division.
Michael's expertise spans fixed income and foreign exchange trading, valuations, US GAAP and IFRS fair value reporting, revenue recognition and impairment, risk management, capital adequacy, liquidity estimation, stress testing, credit products, RIA disclosure and compliance, EU Reg AIFMD, Solvency II, and the control of regulatory disclosure.
Michael ran interest rate derivative trading and structuring for Merrill Lynch in Japan from 1986 through 1994 and then headed UBS's Derivatives and Capital Markets businesses in Tokyo until returning to the US in 1997. Michael headed marketing and structuring departments for derivative and structured financial products at Credit Suisse and then at AIG Financial Products from 1997 to 2005.
Michael helped found and was head of Risk and Finance at Litchfield Capital Holdings, a start up REIT and CDO manager from 2006 through 2010. Michael lead the Regulatory and Accounting solutions group at Bloomberg from 2010 to 2014, designing valuation, fair value accounting, liquidity, and stress testing functionality to address the disclosure requirements confronting Bloomberg's clients in multiple segments.
At Merrill Lynch, at UBS and at Bloomberg Michael has led large systems development projects from the business perspective.
Michael graduated from Duke University with a BA in Economics, cum laude, with distinction in his major.
