Office Manager & Executive Assistant - Part Time

We are looking for a dynamic candidate that is part of our business analyst team.  You will be working closely with our clients to deliver Private Equity fee transparency solutions. This position represents an opportunity to gain experience working in a dynamic asset class, in an entrepreneurial environment and for a growing company.

Core Responsibilities

  • Help modeling new waterfall agreements to be able to calculate investor level Carried Interest
  • Analyze the limited partnership agreements(s) and extract economic terms of the waterfall and management fee clauses
  • Review and cleanse fund and portfolio company cash flow profiles to use in waterfall calculation
  • Using your accounting skills, reconcile and investigate causes for variances between calculated based on our model and GP reported Carried Interest
  • Build out business analyst organization as a team leader

Education, Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Financial analyst background (CFA) a plus
  • Experience in Private Equity fund accounting and practical experience on carried interest waterfall calculations
  • Strong technical, analytical, financial modelling and project management skills with a high attention to details required
  • Strong team player with highly effective communications and writing skills
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability of work product
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to handle several projects and different stakeholders simultaneously
  • Good time management, ability to self-organize and prioritize workload is required

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Build predictive models utilizing both traditional statistical methods (Generalized Linear Models, Mixed Effects Models, Ridge, Lasso, etc.) and modern machine learning techniques (Gradient Boosted Trees, Random Forests, Kernel Methods, Deep Learning, etc.).
  • Extract, clean, and manipulate large datasets (both structured and unstructured) for model building.
  • Communicate insights from quantitative analyses to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Research and implement novel machine learning algorithms.
  • Work with business sponsors and IT teams to implement analytic solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • You have expertise in SQL and at least one of the following: R, Python, or SAS.
  • You have experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Apache Pig, MongoDB, etc.
  • You have built predictive models that have been put into live production.
  • You obsess over sample bias, over-fitting, variable selection, missing values, etc.
  • A dataset with 10 million rows and 5000 columns does not faze you.
  • You understand the need to balance predictive power, interpretability, and ease of implementation.
  • You appreciate that all models are wrong, but some are useful.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The candidate will be implementing a Big Data architecture for the AcordIQ platform. They will be expected to keep current on latest Big Data technologies and products, including hands on evaluations and in depth research.
  • Candidates must have a solid understanding of Hadoop and Big Data opens source solutions such as Hive, Pig, Hbase, and Elastic Search.
  • Experience with systems management tools such as Nagios, Cloudera Manager and system usage and optimization tools such as Splunk at plus.
  • Candidates must have experience in leading implementing from defined requirements and roadmap engagements with complex IT organizations.
  • Ideal candidates will have DBA and/or data modeling skills.
  • Experience with high capacity data ingest into Hadoop or Spark systems is highly desired.
  • They will have curious knowledge of all aspects of system and data security as well as governance.
  • Candidates will have experience with operational and business level metadata management as well as hands on experience with at least one major Hadoop Distribution such as Cloudera or Horton Work

Qualifications and Experience

U.S. Master's Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline and the following experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience doing Enterprise IT consulting as an Enterprise Architect
  • 3 years’ experience with SQL and two major RDBMS’s
  • 2 years’ experience with a major Hadoop distribution and Hive
  • 2 years’ experience with systems and network management tools
  • 2 years’ experience with Information Security practices, principles and tools
  • 2 years’ experience with workload management tools and techniques
  • 2 years’ experience doing Data related benchmarking, performance analysis and tuning
  • 2 years’ experience doing development with Linux
  • 1 year experience with Elastic search/Lucerne
  • Some hands on experience with Cloudera 4.5 and higher, Horton Works 2.1 and higher or MapR.
  • Knowledge of System-wide bottleneck analysis including network analysis and performance tuning
  • 2 years’ experience in data modeling
  • 1 year experience with Map/Reduce solution design and development
  • Experience with at least one ETL solutions, preferably on Hadoop
  • Experience with Ambari and/or Cloudera Enterprise Manager and Director
  • Experience with Tableau or one other Business Intelligence Tool
  • Experience as Technical Project Leader


AcordIQ  is seeking a part-time Office Manager & Executive Assistant to manage office operations, coordinate calendar’s and travel matters, and provide comprehensive support to AcordIQ staff leadership.  This position requires a high level of professionalism and discretion.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Calendar Management, schedules meetings and appointments, plans events and makes travel arrangements
  • Performs a variety of administrative duties such as processing expenses, event management, presentation creation / support
  • May coordinate requests for workspace, service, and office equipment and other programs such as speaking engagements, employee recognition and records retention
  • Provides guidance to others in the organization regarding administrative practices
  • Will involve high level contacts and exposure to sensitive information necessitating considerable use of tact, confidentiality and diplomacy

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum one to three years of progressively responsible experience in managing an office and providing executive support
  • Experience supporting board meetings preferred
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Expert at multitasking and prioritizing

Location and Travel

This position will be a work from home position with travel to the NYC office a few times a month. It will require periodic tri-state travel to meetings and events as needed.
